Honors Program Benefits

Showcase Your Scholarship

Working closely with a faculty advisor, students complete a senior thesis or capstone based on their interests and career goals and present their findings at research conferences or publish their work in academic and professional journals. Fellowships are available to fund student travel expenses to present their research at national conferences.

Take Your Classes Together

The 15–27-credit program includes priority registration and Honors-only sections of courses. This includes general education courses and communications skills courses. Honors students also take an Honors seminar or complete a study abroad experience. The final part of the curriculum is a faculty-advised thesis or capstone project.

Living Learning Community

Most students live in the Honors residence hall, Hamilton Hall, as a first-year student. Students also utilize the Honors Lounge, which is reserved for only Honors students to study and socialize. Other benefits include faculty-led roundtable discussions, networking lunches, book discussion groups, and other events, which contribute to a lively intellectual community. Additionally, students can suggest and plan future events through the Honors Student Advisory Council.

Patriot Scholarship

Opportunities for additional academic scholarships are available for Honors students in good standing.
