Maddie Harnish - Senior Education Major

Meet senior education major Maddie Harnish. Last semester, Maddie completed her pre-student teaching placement at Duquesne City School. For 15 weeks, she was able to gain experience in the classroom under the guidance of her mentor, Mrs. Erika Slobodnik.

“The best part about my experience at Duquesne City School was knowing that I made a difference in the kids’ lives.” She expressed that this experience was a great way to practice everything she’s been learning at RMU for the past 3 years.

She is now doing her full-time student teaching placement at an elementary school in Moon. “It’s because of the time I’ve spent at these schools with my mentors that I feel ready to graduate in the spring and begin my career.”

“The education program at RMU is great and I couldn’t have picked a better school or program.” Maddie says one of the best thing about RMU is the smaller class sizes. After four years here, her classmates and professors have become family. #Unstoppable
