How The WLMP Works
Each year the WLMP invites 20-25 incoming undergraduate students to participate in a powerful four-year, co-curricular program that combines leadership development, a supportive community, exposure to high-profile opportunities, global education, and networking with regional and national leaders. Together, these activities advance young women’s ability to contribute, lead, and build their future.
Peer Mentors
An upper-class peer mentor is assigned to each new student to provide guidance and team up at workshops, networking, and career development events.
RMU Faculty and Staff Mentors
Every student in the program has a one-on-one campus mentor from the faculty or staff to share experiences and offer encouragement and advice.
Professional Mentors
As students reach their junior year, they pair up with a professional mentor committed to young women’s empowerment to build career connections.
Leadership Development Programming
Students attend a mix of on-campus and off-campus conferences, events, and workshops to build essential leadership skills and expand their network.
Financial Support
The WLMP strives to remove financial barriers to success. WLMP students receive an annual scholarship of $1,000, a $2,000 scholarship to study abroad their Junior or Senior Year, and have the opportunity to apply for emergency aid and textbook support funding.
