ARP Act (HEERF III) Reporting Information
1) RMU has applied for and received American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act funding from the U.S. Department of Education. RMU has signed and returned a Certification and Agreement to the Department. RMU has designated the applicable amount of funds under the ARP Act Section 2003 (a)(1) program to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
2) RMU received $4,590,127 in funds to be provided for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under the ARPAct Section 2003 (a)(1) program.
3) As of June 30, 2022, RMU has distributed $4,590,127 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 2003 (a)(1) of the ARP Act. No additional updates will be provided as the full amount has been distributed.
4) RMU estimates that approximately 4,000 of its students are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the ARP Act Section 2003 (a)(1) program.
5) As of June 30, 2022, 3,954 students have received Emergency Financial Aid Grants under the ARP Act Section 2003 (a)(1) program.
6) RMU is providing awards to all new and returning RMU students who have completed the registration process for the Fall 2021 semester. Eligible students include undergraduate, graduate, international and part-time. The awards are determined based on students’ Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and full- or less than full-time enrollment status. Below is a breakdown of the awards for full time and part time enrolled students:
- Awards for undergraduate full-time enrolled students:
- EFC $0 - 6,000: $1,500 per student
- All other full-time: $1,000 per student
- Awards for graduate students and undergraduates enrolling less than full time:
- Graduate/Doctorate: $500 per student
- Undergraduate part-time: $500 per student
In addition to the grants that were awarded directly to students, a portion of the funding is reserved for eligible students in need of financial assistance above the amount initially awarded to help continue their education and meet any other unforeseen expenses. All additional grants are reviewed and approved by the Vice President of Student Life and Senior Director of Financial Aid. Additionally, students are given the option of either (1) applying awarded appeal funds directly to their RMU student account or (2) directly receiving awarded appeal funds.
