Our story began when I was a freshman and Drew was a senior. You know when you meet someone, and you just can't stop picturing the rest of your life with them, and you have to talk yourself down because it had only been about an hour since you met? I knew from the moment I had my first conversation with Drew that he was the one.
In the year we spent together in college, we definitely lived it up. RoMo’s dates, walks to Wheatley, thee RMU vs. Kentucky basketball games, Tuesday party bus to Buckhead Saloon. Then we blinked and he had to go to Charlotte for work.
The next few months really sucked. He was working 50+ hour weeks while I took summer classes and worked three part-time jobs, and we barely had any time for each other. It wasn’t until Homecoming that we saw each other again, when he was asked to speak at the sport management conference. We spent every possible second together. The next week, Drew was back in North Carolina and I was in class when I got a call from Residence Life asking me to come to their office. When I walked through the doors, the staff handed me the largest flower arrangement I had ever seen. It was from Drew, and the card asked if I wanted to officially be his other half.
Spoiler... I did! Fast forward a few years, Drew moved back to Pittsburgh, I graduated from RMU, and we moved into an apartment together in downtown Pittsburgh. He popped the question in December 2017 in NYC, and we got married on June 8, 2019, at the Carnegie Museum of Art. We have since moved to NYC for his job and added one handsome French bulldog puppy, Winston, to our family. We are forever grateful the role RMU played in our happily ever after!
