EARN YOUR DEGREE FOR FREE
The new, expanded RMU Military Service Award will cover all tuition and fees for any undergraduate programs of study for veterans, service members, or their spouses or dependents using the Post-9/11 GI Bill ®, regardless of their benefit coverage level.
The new award enables the vast majority of veterans to earn a bachelor’s degree at no out-of-pocket cost. The university also has announced an additional 25 percent tuition discount on top of federal benefits for veterans enrolled in any master’s degree program. Please contact us for more information at veterans@rmu.edu or 412-397-5435.
A SPACE DESIGNED FOR YOU
Located on the lower level of the Jefferson Center in the heart of RMU’s beautiful Moon Township campus, the Center for Veterans and Military Families is the central hub for its students to access the services they need while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and family. The private 7,500 square foot facility includes a computer lab, quiet study area, lounge space, training/conference room, lockers and and the offices from which CVMF's staff administer veteran and military educational benefits. The office area includes a kitchenette that is stocked with free snacks, drinks, and coffee along with a refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave.
WHY RMU?
"Being a veteran student at RMU taught me that I am not abandoning my past, I am talking it with me on my next journey. Being a student was adding tools to my toolbox rather than throwing the old tools away. RMU helped me build a new foundation to build a life on. The CVMF was like an engineer that I could consult as I developed that foundation".

Military Service Credit
RMU values your military service and will carefully evaluate each Joint Service Transcript (JST) so that you are awarded the maximum transfer credits into your undergraduate program of study. Most of RMU’s undergraduate programs of study have 15+ JST credits transferred in to fulfill RMU credit requirements, this decreases the time it takes to complete your undergraduate degree program at RMU.
