General Priorities
- Develop a social media engagement plans for the three SBUS programs: accounting, finance, and financial planning
- Create and post weekly content
- Track account analytics (e.g. viewership of individual posts, number of followers)
- Maintain departments' social media presence by interacting with other relevant accounts
- Contribute to the development of social media strategy and promotional campaigns
- Interact regularly with department head, his or her social media duties designee, faculty, students, advisory boards, and student groups
Requirements
- Maintain a 7 hours/week work schedule
- Work on-site and from home with the same work ethic
- Be able to think and work independently
- Must be pursuing a degree in accounting, finance or financial planning. A preference will be given to a student who has either accounting, finance, or financial planning major with a concentration in another discipline (accounting major and finance concentration, or finance major and accounting concentration; traditionally “double majors”.)
- Possess graphic design skills; experience with creative suites a plus
- Analytics experience also valuable
- Knowledge of student communication patterns for best chance of success
- Preferred experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
- Proven social media experience in garnering support
- Prepared to take leadership role and be comfortable working as the department’s social media expert
- Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Be comfortable working with faculty and other departmental constituents
- Own a laptop
- Earn Hootsuite certification at department’s expense
- This is an unpaid internship, however, the student will receive 2 credits of finance academic internship and 2 credits of accounting academic internship in academic year 2021-2022 (2 credits in the fall and 2 credits in the spring; 4 credits in total.)
