Business Analytics

The certificate program in business analytics focuses on the fundamental concepts of data science and data mining as applied to business problems. Hands-on examples and real world business problems are used to look at how the use of analytics can create business value and prepare professionals to work effectively as liaisons between clients, IT, and other functional teams.

The 12-credit graduate certificate is designed as a standalone stackable credential. Credits can also be applied to the 30-credit M.B.A. Courses are offered online in an accelerated 8-week format.

Finance graduates have the ability to choose among many sectors of the economy. Jobs exist in corporate finance, financial institutions, investment, and government.. Many students go on to achieve professional designations such as Certified Financial Planner or Certified Financial Analyst.

Megan Gold

As a marketing major at the School of Business, Megan Gold learned the value of communicating messages effectively. That’s something she applies every day in her job at Lockheed Martin as a software engineer. Megan doesn’t have a science background, but she is effective at explaining complex topics to other audiences who lack a technical focus. She credits her time at RMU with preparing her for this role, including an internship at the company that eventually hired her.

ANDREW MILLER loves a big game, and he came to RMU to pursue his dream of being a sports broadcaster. However, once he started taking classes, he discovered other opportunities to explore that led him in directions he wouldn’t have dreamed of in high school.
