Black History Month Schedule

FEBRUARY 1

  • STEP AFRIKA – Reservations Closed!  
    • A performance with percussive dance styles, traditional African dances and an array of contemporary dance held at the Byham Theater and sponsored by the ACT 101 program. Transportation and dinner included.

FEBRUARY 3

  • NCNW LOVE JONES 4:30 PM, Hale 309
    • Join the National Council of Negro Women for an exciting movie night and discussion about healthy relationships.

FEBRUARY 6

  • ACRIMONY & DEBATE 6:00 PM, Hopwood Hall
    • The Black Student Union presents a compelling movie and leads a rich debate about who was at fault. You gotta be part of the conversation.

FEBRUARY 13

  • RMU COMMUNITY MIXER 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Wheatly Cafe
    • Stop by for lunch and to mix and connect with Black faculty, staff, and students.

FEBRUARY 16

  • UNITY FUN NIGHT 5:00 PM, Student Office Nicholson Center 2nd Floor
    • Enjoy tasty treats, fun games, and lots of laughs with friends. We will also travel back to "Wakanda" to enjoy Part 2 of the saga.

FEBRUARY 17

  • MOVIE NIGHT (See REVOLUTION for details)
    • Join students from the RMU Pittsburgh Promise Program as they watch a fun movie and enjoy great snacks.

FEBRUARY 22

  • CELEBRATING & SUPPORTING BLACK STUDENT MENTAL & PHYSICAL HEALTH (See REVOLUTION for details) 
    • The Campus Recreation Center and the RMU Counseling Center will offer programs in celebration of the National Recreational Sports and Fitness Day.

FEBRUARY 24

  • POP CULTURE TRIVIA Hale Center 301 (See REVOLUTION for start time)
    • The Residence Hall Association presents Pop Culture Trivia and Wings.

FEBRUARY 25

  • BSU DAY OF SERVICE (See REVOLUTION for details)
    • Join members of the Black Student Union on a day of service and a day of giving back to the community.

FEBRUARY 27

  • UBUNTU DINNER (See REVOLUTION for details)
    • The Massey Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation presents "The Ubuntu Dinner" that celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship by Black founders and how entrepreneurship impacts the community.
