Visiting Documentary Filmmaker
A 15-week residency in documentary filmmaking (fall semester) responsible for teaching a special topics documentary production class and being an active member of the university community, including participating in activities such as screenings, lectures, jurying student competition work, and engaging with students and faculty. Recent visitors include Berlin-based independent filmmaker Rich Minnich and Film Strategist Nadine Patterson.
While in residence, the visiting documentary filmmaker is expected to set appropriate goals in the development of her/his own documentary project(s) with support from the Media Arts Department and Academic Media Center. Support includes access to production and post-production equipment, administrative staff, student assistance, screening facilities, and access to our fully equipped production studios. An artist talk and minimum of two screenings are expected during the semester.
