Our twelve-credit certificate program in game design aims to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to create games, gamify experiences, facilitate play, analyze playability, and effectiveness in communicating through play.

Writing for the Workplace
RMU’s Writing for the Workplace Certificate offers all students the opportunity to improve their writing and to demonstrate this expertise as a credential that will appear on their transcripts. This certificate is NOT designed for those who wish to focus on a career as a writer, but rather for those who wish to improve their writing in support of their career and promotion. Research has shown that across all industries, employers are more likely to hire and/or promote candidates with strong skills in written communication.
Creative Writing

RMU’s four-course (twelve credit), fully on-line certificate in Creative Writing prepares students to produce polished, publishable creative works (fiction and creative non-fiction) while gaining experience in:
Typography
The creative marketplace for fonts has exploded and we see decorative fonts everywhere, but how does one select and use typefaces effectively? In this 3-course certificate, students will gain hands-on experience in the application of design principles to written language, through creative projects centered on typographic expression and the clear communication of words on the screen, page, and other surfaces.
Commercial Photography
Our twelve-credit certificate allows students to experience the diverse subject of photography through the development of both technical and aesthetic skills. Designed for students of any major interested in using photography as a tool for visual communication.

Television Production
This twelve-credit certificate program gives students hands-on exposure to live television production. Students will develop essential skills in developing rundowns, shooting video, directing, mixing audio, switching graphics, and production management. Participants gain experience with real-time broadcast and streaming media in a team setting and will gain insight into the history and economic impact of live television.
Content Creation
Our twelve-credit certificate program aims to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to create, manage, and distribute digital content effectively. This program fosters digital literacy and ensures students are prepared to meet the growing demands of industries reliant on content making and communication, thereby enhancing their employability and adaptability in the professional landscape.

English with a Professional Focus
Turn your love of reading and writing into a career in media communication, publishing, content creation, professional or technical writing, or social media management. An English degree also provides excellent preparation for a career in law, whether as a lawyer, paralegal, or arbitrator.
